As children with severe acute malnutrition are medically vulnerable, Plumpy’Nut® must be used under medical supervision. A healthcare professional’s prescription is required, along with regular medical follow-ups throughout the treatment period.
One box of Plumpy’Nut® provides a complete treatment course for one child.
Plumpy’Nut® is also suitable for adults suffering from severe acute malnutrition.
In addition, Plumpy’Nut® may be used for the treatment of moderate acute malnutrition, in accordance with national protocols for the management of acute malnutrition in children.
Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended for the first six months of life, with continued breastfeeding advised up to two years of age or beyond.
