Enov’Nutributter®+ is a lipid-based nutritional supplement – small quantity (LNS-SQ) and is recognised as one of the most effective nutritional interventions to improve infant nutrition (Lancet, 2021).
In populations where infant undernutrition is widespread and diet quality is inadequate, Enov’Nutributter®+ helps compensate for gaps in complementary feeding. It provides essential micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) and essential fatty acids required for healthy growth and development.
When given alongside complementary foods to children aged 6–23 months, Enov’Nutributter®+ has been shown to reduce:
Stunting by 12% and less severe stunting by 17%
Wasting by 14% and severe wasting by 31%
Anaemia by 16% and iron-deficiency anaemia by 64%
Developmental delays by 16–19%
Risk of all-cause mortality by 27%
Enov’Nutributter®+ does not interfere with breastfeeding or complementary feeding practices.
This product does not replace a varied and nutritious diet or breastfeeding.
Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended for the first six months of life, with continued breastfeeding advised up to two years of age or beyond.
